Around three quarters (74 percent) of the people surveyed for Statista’s Global Consumer Survey in the UK said that they took food supplements in 2022. Of these, vitamins were the most popular, with 65 percent of respondents saying that they had used them in the last twelve months. Proteins and minerals were the next most popular forms of food supplements, with 20 percent and 19 percent of respondents having taken them, respectively. As our chart shows, vitamin consumption is fairly high across multiple European countries, including among others, Italy, Switzerland, Sweden, the Netherlands and Germany.
However, nowhere more so than in Poland, where 79 percent of respondents said they take the supplements, making it Europe's vitamin champion.
